Q2 Networking Event - Movie Screening

Dear ASIS International (Singapore Chapter) Members,

On behalf of the Management Committee, I cordially invite you to our Q2/2014 members' event. Unlike the previous networking dinners, members will be treated with a screening of the blockbuster action movie - Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise.

The event is on 12 June 2014 (Thursday). Members are requested to arrive at 1830hrs for registration and networking opportunity. The movie screening will start at 1915hrs.

Capacity is limited, so please register and secure your seat early via this weblink.
F&B with be a choice of either Teriyaki Chicken or Seafood Spaghetti, with a drink inclusive.

There will be no cost to paid-up Singapore Chapter members.
Fees for International members will be SGD30.
 No-show fees (SGD10) may be imposed if cancellation is not notified 3 days before the event.

CPP Review Course

The next Advanced Security Management & CPP® Review course is scheduled to run from 1 to 4 July 2014. All ASIS International and Singapore Chapter members are entitled to a discount off the registration fee. Please see the course brochure for full details.

Applying for the CPP® Certification Exam
The CPP® professional qualification is by computer-based examination. Applications to sit the examination, which costs USD300 for ASIS International members and USD450 for non-members, should be made direct to ASIS International via the ASIS website.

The CPP® examination is conducted by ASIS International and is computer-based at a number of Prometric Test Centre in Singapore and globally. Prospective candidates can check their eligibility to sit the examination and register online directly with ASIS International. Further details of the CPP reference materials, examination entry criteria and application form, and Prometric Test Centres can be found on the ASIS website.

The examination fee is not included in the CPP® Review Course package fee, nor are the CPP reference materials – details of which can be found on the ASIS website.

Field Visit - Parliament House

Dear Member,

ASIS International (Singapore Chapter) will be hosting its second quarter's field visit in 2014 at Parliament House. The functions of Parliament include making laws, controlling the state's finances and taking up a critical / inquisitional role to check on the actions of the governing party and the Ministries.

Grab this rare opportunity to visit one of the most important buildings in Singapore and understand its political and functional dimensions. As a security professional, you will get an insight into the security design and operations of this property. You will also meet face-to-face with its security team and walk away with valuable lessons and sharing at the end of the visit.

Participants will qualify for 2 CPE hours towards CPP, PSP and PCI recertification.

Date: 5th June 2014 (Thur)
Time: 1410hr – 1630hr
Venue: Parliament House

Programme
1410hr – Registration and Security Screening
1430hr – Overview of Parliament of Singapore & Tour of Parliament House (by professional freelance guide)
1530hr – Tea Reception and Overview of Parliament's Security Department
1615hr – Tour of Security Control Room
1630hr – End of Tour

There are only 40 slots (priority given to ASIS International members) for this field visit and the fees are as follow:

S$10 for ASIS International (Singapore Chapter) paid-up members
S$20 for ASIS International members and affiliated associations (ACFE, ISACA, (ISC)2 Singapore Chapters and TAPA Asia)
S$30 for Non-members

Invoice with instruction to pay online will be issued upon registration.

ASIS Working Groups - Women in Security

WIS Mission

The ASIS International Women in Security’s (WIS) mission is to provide support and assistance to women in the security industry as well as to inspire those interested in entering the security industry through tailored programming and mentoring.

WIS will support and promote its global members by utilising collaborated skills and talents to strengthen leadership abilities.


While the group's benefits and programs are tailored for women, WIS encourages and welcomes the participation of all ASIS members who are dedicated to the support of women in the security industry.
