Dear ASIS International and Singapore Chapter Members,

I am pleased to share with you on some recent updates:

1) Website v2.0
The Chapter has a new website with fresh look and design. This is a result from months of research, developing, fine-tuning and testing the new website. Information are easily accessible either from the top tabs or labels. There are several new features such as Google Calendar integration that allows members to subscribe to Chapter’s calendar and is always updated with various events. Please have a look and let us know your experience.

2) LinkedIn Group
The recent situation with Haze prompted a need to facilitate members with a platform for discussion. It will also serve as additional channel to deliver Chapter announcements. Admission to the group will be limited to ASIS International assigned to Singapore and Singapore Chapter members. Members are encouraged to actively share relevant articles, start new discussion or participate in existing discussion. The group will be a good platform to post security-related job vacancies. Members should receive an invitation to join the group, act now to join 60 others members who are already in the group.

3) Graduate Diploma in Homeland Security and Counter Terrorism
In 2012, The Chapter signed a MoU with STEi to jointly deliver the program. The program is eligible for WDA funding and members will receive preferential fee. Other academic programs includes Master of Security Management from ECU and Professional Diploma in Security Management with SMF.

4) Chapter Membership
The Chapter operates financially independent from ASIS International. I encourage all ASIS International members to join Singapore Chapter. Chapter dues received is put into a good use for various educational, networking and outreach activities. At this point, ASIS International members in Singapore are enjoying preferential rates when attending events organised by ACFE Singapore Chapter, (ISC)2 Singapore Chapter, ISACA Singapore Chapter, DRI Singapore, TAPA Asia and others.

5) Certification Review Courses
Please spread the word around and this would be an excellent opportunity to prepare for CPP and PSP examination. Starting this year, The Chapter is extending the PSP review course to 3 days in order to cover additional area such as CPTED and BCM.
a. CPP review course, 26-29 Aug 2013
b. PSP review course, 31 Jul-2 Aug 2013

6) ASIS Foundation
The ASIS 2013 Annual Giving Campaign is underway. Giving to the ASIS Foundation is your opportunity to help make the world a safer place through education, training and research. Since 1965, the Foundation has funded surveys, studies and research, as well as valued member projects like the IRC library and the 9/11 memorial garden at headquarters.

The work of the Foundation is supported solely by voluntary contributions. The funds raised over the course of our Annual Campaign make it possible for the Foundation to provide educational opportunities and vital research to enhance the security profession throughout the year. Please click here to donate.

Lastly, there will be site visit to Zouk Club today. If you have not registered for visit, please do so soon as we have a few seats available.
